With a Little Help from Our Friends
Opening a coffee business hasn’t been easy—but if we had known it would lead us to the friendships and community we’ve found along the way, we would have begun this journey much sooner. What started as a simple passion for coffee grew into a dream shaped by the people who walked it with us.

My husband, John, and I retired from law enforcement—a dark yet rewarding career that exposed us to some of the most challenging sides of humanity. When we walked away from that chapter, we didn’t step into this one with business plans, degrees, or experience. We stepped in with love—love for coffee, love for people, and a willingness to try. John has always had a passion for people, and well… I’ve always had a passion for coffee (we’ll get to that later). What we lacked in experience, we made up for in faith. We entered this new adventure without knowing how it would turn out—but God did.

With a little help from our friends, we opened our doors on November 15, 2025. The road was hard, humbling, and full of lessons. We quickly learned that we didn’t need to be coffee experts or have business degrees to build something meaningful. What we truly needed was someone to believe in us when we struggled to believe in ourselves. That belief came from an entire community—old friends, new friends, and those who showed up ready to help, tools in hand. Through their encouragement, smiles, and support, they reminded us why we began this journey. The love and support we’ve received has been nothing short of overwhelming. Joe Cocker once sang, “I get by with a little help from my friends.” That lyric perfectly captures our story. Around a cup of coffee, friendships were formed, encouragement was poured as freely as espresso, and a dream found its footing. Coffee, we’ve learned, is more than a drink—it’s an invitation to connect.

John and I are beyond thankful. There are far too many people to name, but you know who you are. This coffee shop exists because of you—and this is only the beginning.
